Keith and Leeann Shumway met in a small church in Colorado. Keith was born in upstate NY near the Olympic village of Lake Placid. He grew up in a pastor’s home and learned of his love for God and the Church at a young age. He attended Syracuse University and majored in Computer Science. His career has been in the secular world more specifically in the software industry. He started in Boston, moved to Colorado (where he met Leeann), and since 2008 has been in Alaska. Leeann was raised in the Pacific Northwest in the home of a very dedicated church family. Her home was not that of a pastor’s home, but they were as involved as any pastor in their church with her father overseeing the Sunday School program, and teaching adult classes himself. She found a love for the Lord and the church at a young age also.
They met in Colorado and their family was started there with three boys Luke, Dawson, and Kolby. Within a month of Kolby’s birth, they moved to Alaska and have loved this place where God has asked them to go. As a family, they are active outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, boating… enjoying all the things outdoors that Alaska offers.
Keith says: “In April 2016, I was asked by the elder board to lead worship at Faith Bible Fellowship. I have no formal training, I’m just a guy who loves God and loves Godly music, and longs for a worshiping congregation.” His vision is a people who worship all week individually and come together each Sunday to share in that worship together.
