The act of salvation is entirely the work of God, an expression of divine grace, grounded in the redemption made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the merit of His shed blood. This salvation is not dependent on human merit or works, as is attested by Biblical passages (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19).
When an unregenerate person hears the gospel and responds with faith in Christ, that person is instantly transferred from spiritual death to spiritual life, declared righteous, and wholly accepted by God the Father (John 3:15-18,36, 5:24, 17:23; Acts 13:39, 16:31; Romans 5:1, 10:13; 1 Corinthians 3:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:13).
The moment a person is saved, that person receives every spiritual blessing and is made complete in Christ (Ephesians 1:3; 1 Peter 2:5). This means that in Christ, believers lack nothing and have all that they need for a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Each individual who has undergone a spiritual birth and has been transformed by the Holy Spirit can possess absolute assurance and confidence in their salvation. This assurance is based solely on the Word of God. It is not dependent upon any human effort or sense of personal worthiness (Luke 10:20, 22:32; Hebrews 10:22; 1 John 5:13).
All who have been redeemed are secure in Christ forever, as they are protected by God’s power (John 5:24, 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 5:9-10, 8:1,31-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; Ephesians 4:30; Hebrews 7:25, 13:5; 1 Peter 1:5; Jude 24).
